Troubleshoot BMW engine light warning

Gets on your nerves when the check engine light on your dashboard comes on. What can we do by ourself?

OK, let us say you use an iOBD2 BMW from www.obdii365.com. So, get ready and find out how to use the tool to know what your car is up to on your own.

1. Get a computer, a laptop or a phone that your iOBD2 BMW can work together.
2. Find the data link connector under the dashboard on the drivers side.
3. Connect the code reader with the car via a cable or via wireless connection.
4. Turn the ignition key to the ON position but do not rush to start the engine.
5. Wait until the ignition system is on, and then the vehicle will power up the code reader. You will see a welcome screen then.
6. Follow the hints the code reader provide – select read codes — display the trouble codes.
7. A few minutes later, the screen will display the DTCs if there is something wrong with you engine system or other systems.
8. If there are DTCs, there will be an option to clear the codes. Press the button (if there is one) or click the "Clear” option to erase the DTCs.
9. After that you will see two options, recheck or pass. If you have finished the work, you can turn off ignition and pull out the connector from the port.
