Code and register BMW E90 battery with BMW ICOM Tool

If you just get your battery replaced, you have to recode the CAS module with BMW engineering and programming software. After you program an aftermarket battery, it needs to be registered. BMW Standard Tool (INPA, Ediabas Toolset32) is needed.

Tool needed:
Hardware: WIFI BMW ICOM A2+B+C diagnostic system (a single INPA cable is not enough)
Software: BMW ICOM ISTA/D ISTA/P software HDD with engineering and programming software (INPA, EDIABAS etc)

How to code/program BMW E90 with INPA?

NCSExpert is able to code BMW battery as well. Here we use BMW INPA software.

Well install BMW ICOM and engineering software
Connect BMW ICOM a2+b+c OBD2 diagnostic tool with vehicle via USB or WIFI wireless connection

Open INPA software on the desktop
Select vehicle model: E90
Select Engine
Select ECU type: MSD80
Select F5 Status
Select PM-IBS
Select PM FIELD 2

Under the PM Field option look at the ah reading registered, to see what it's set at to charge your battery at present. If it is incorrect, you need to code the CAS>>KLASSE_BATTERIE>>**ah to your battery specification.
Once you have coded the module, re-register your battery using the INPA or EDIABAS Tool32 software.

How to register old and new BMW vehicle battery?

For older BMW models, register BMW battery with BMW INPA program:

Step 1: select "BODY”
Step 2: select "POWER MODULE”
Step 3: select "ACTIVATE”
Step 4: Select "ACTIVATE2” from the next menu
Step 5: select "F7: Register battery replacement”.
Then INPA will display the register completed prompt "Register battery replacement Activated properly."

Because newer BMW model does not contain Power Module, INPA cable will not work, Ediabas Toolset32 is required.

Step 1: Locate Ediabas folder
Step 2: Open MSD80.prg
Step 3: Look up steuern_batterietausch_registri. (near bottom of job list)
Step 4: Go to "Jobs” menu
Step 5: Select Run Job
Check the "Results” window for the line JOB_STATUS = OKAY

After complete register the battery, go back into INPA and check the PM Field 2, to see if the new ah reading has been registered.

Exit the BMW engineering software and disconnect the BMW ICOM diagnostic system.

BMW E46: change VIN in DME with BMW ICOM WinKFP software

Here is the detail instruction on updating/reprogramming the DME module and change the VIN stored in the DME dump with BMW WinKFP software.

Tool needed:
BMW ICOM A2+B+C WIFI OBDâ…¡diagnostic system
BMW ICOM ISTA/P Rheingold software HDD with engineering and programming software BMW standard tool V2.12 WinKFP V5.1.6 (or higher)

Vehicle model: BMW E46 316i

Instruction:

Well installed BMW ICOM ISTA/P software HDD and engineering software
Setup BMW ICOM a2+b+c and connect the system with vehicle via OBD port
Open WinKFP software on the desktop
Select F1: Comfort Mode
BMW WinKFP change VIN
Select F3:Update ZUSB
BMW WinKFP change VIN
Select BMW model ECU type: JBBF81, press OK
BMW WinKFP change VIN
Select F4: Enter VIN. Manually enter vehicle VIN number, click OK
BMW WinKFP change VIN
Press Done
Select F4: Special
Select F1: Read UIF, you will be able to view the current vehicle information and VIN. The current vehicle identification number in Entry 2 is 1111111. Press OK then click Done.

Select F3: Program ZB-Update bottom, the screen will display if you want to program current ZBNr, click Tak.

Accept program ECU prompt
The DME module upgrade is processing, wait until it processes to 100%.
WinKFP software will display "ZUSB-update programming OK message" when completing update the module.

Select F4: Special
Select F1: Read UIF
You will notice that the vehicle identification number in Entry 2 has changed to P224855. Press OK.

Save settings.
Exit the WinKFP software and disconnect BMW ICOM diagnostic tool.

How to Correct Odometer of BMW E71 with Digiprog 3

Recently, the newly launched V4.94 Digiprog 3 makes Digiprog 3 become the hot topic among many car enthusiasts. While here what I want to share with you is "how to do mileage correction via digiprog 3”.

Take my BMW E71 as an example; you can follow the steps below to adjust the mileage.

1. Remove the instrument cluster and program of this gem.
2. Place the READY PROGRAMMED instrument cluster in range, for example, on the passenger seat, but do not connect it to CAS programming!
3. The diagnostic port is located in the driver’s footwall. Turn the ignition on a vehicle. Connect connector ST16 the diagnostic port and the DIGIPROG.
4. Select the program: cars / trucks – BMW – 6 Series (E71) – CAS 3 DIAG.
The DIGIPROG displays the old / wrong Mileage.
5. Now you just confirm with the hook. (Note: Please Do Not enter new value)
Pay attention to the display from Digiprog. If the message appears: IKE INSTALLATION must be installed within 60 seconds, the IKE (instrument cluster) or connect to the vehicle. Now a timer is running from (110-0).
6. The instrument cluster now shows the new / correct KM – to stand. Odometer correction tool

My Experience with WIFI BMW ICOM A2 Tool Plus EVG7 8GB Tablet PC OBD365

I am a customer from USA, i bought a wifi BMW ICOM A2+B+C and EVG7 DL46/HDD500GB/DDR8GB Diagnostic Controller Tablet PC from obdii365.com last month.

First i should say the shipping service is extremely good, i got all items in 4 days.

After ireceived the parcel, i find that they have installed BMW ICOM HDD on EVG7 laptop for me already, so nice!!! I can use it directly, a big surprise!!!

Then i can not wait to start my ICOM device, problem is coming. The device ask me for the password 1 and password 2:

I ask obdii365 customer service via Whatsapp, they reply me almost in one second, thepassword1is "BMW", the password2 no need fill anything, just ignore it.

When i try to input the password, the screen seems freezed, i can not do anything. How to use BMW ENET cable to do BMW F-series coding

Received my BMW ENET cable and did some DIY job for F30 already.

This BMW ENET (Ethernet to OBD) Interface Cable is designed to work on BMW F-series alone. Let’s go straight to the point.

You need:

A BMW ENET cable

E-Sys program, datafiles, token and PIN

A PC/laptop running Windows XP system (mine second-hand Panasonic Win xp 64 bit OS)

Just spending a little money and you will get a powerful ENET cable for $16.99 without postage. I recommend get one from OBDII365.com which offers good technical support. Usually, after he receives payment, they can have the cable shipped as soon as possible and arrive with you between 3 to 4 days.

I have found some clue on how to solder the cable list as below. Better understanding with the pictures guidance.

The package comes with E-Sys program, datafiles and such which enable me to use directly without downloading. I was offered E-Sys v3.18.4 in combination with the v46.3 datafiles. I have to mention that the datafiles contains more than 10GB memory, so you have to take hours and hours to download it all. And you have no choice but to wait patiently.

Then please refer the pdf guide here E-Sys – MacOSX installation and configuration.pdf to start install the E-Sys. As soon as you start the vehicle, the E-Sys program will automatically saves the CAF files into "C:\ESysData\CAF”. Then copy all these files on to the certain folder.

After that, please do as the following steps:

1) Connect the laptop to vehicle and click the connect symbol

2) Select "F20"(not F020 direct) and click connect. Close the popping out message when you see your car VIN, if not, repeat the progress again.

3) Accept following windows message and close the program

4) Switch to coding mode, go to expert mode and click on coding icon on the left vertical pane.

5) Come to the coding program. Click Read button under the VO pane and then FA appears

6) Now Click on Read VCM or Read button under VCM pane. You will find it it will be on your right hand-Center

7) All the ECU's will display on the main program. Then expand the ECU’s and all most all ECU’s will have a file starting with CAF (With green indicator) right click on the CAF file and select Read coding data, ignore whose who did not contain CAF. But remember do not click all CAF files. Four or five is the maximum.

8. After complete above procedures, go to c:/esydata/CAF. All the .ncd files have been generated on the CAF folder.

9) Copy .ncd files and on your pc or laptop. Run the software program and then start to do F30 coding according to the window instructions.


I have successfully realized these things by using the ENET cable:

-Remove PDC + cam disclaimer

- Mirrors open automatically when closed with comfort access

-Change DVD region code

- Remove disclaimer

- Video in Motion

- Turned the Seatbelt Gong off

- Side View Cameras on at all speeds

- Change DVD region code

- Tire pressure + temperature in TPMS

- Mirrors close by pressing doorknob (comfort access only)

- Disable A.S.S. by default (can still be enabled but starts with setting ‘off’)

- Remember last setting of A.S.S. (works only when not disabled by default)

- Change ringtones

…

I am still working on it and will figure out more functions later. I have to clearly that these are all the tested result on F30. I am not sure how other F-series works.Star Diagnosis

BMW E39 DSC/ABS module coding with NCS-Expert OBDII365

When you installed a repaired DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) module to enable cruise control, odometer etc function, the DSC light will illuminates. BMW INPA software will read the fault code, but you need NCS-Expert software to get the module coded. Here is the detail instruction on coding E39 DSC module with NCS-expert.

Tool needs:
BMW ICOM A2+B+C diagnostic system hardware
BMW ICOM NCS-Expert software (included in BMW ICOM software HDD)

Instruction:

Install DSC module
Well install NCS-Expert software and connect the BMW ICOM a2+b+c main unit with vehicle via OBD socket
After well loaded with software, click File >>Load Profile

Select "Expertmode"

Press "F1 VIN/ZCS/FA"

Register and Update 2015 AutoHexâ…¡ BMW scan tool software

After well install the Bluetooth AutoHex â…¡ Hyundai and Kia GDS diagnostic scan tool software, you need to register your unit. Here displays the register and update instruction of GDS software.

Same procedure applied to AutoHex BMW software.

How to register AutoHex 2 software?

1) Login to www.autohex.net, and create a new account with your email address and password.

2) Come to "Device Registration" windows, the system will display "Microtronic Autohex registration Confirmation" prompt, confirm from the link: Autohex online.

3) Register is completed.

How to update AutoHex 2 software?

1) Connect the AutoHexâ…¡scan tool interface with computer via USB port.
2) Press Configuration Tab, the system will display software information.

4) Go to "UPDATE" button

5) Register the AutoHex II in the same information you entered previously.
