Autel universal keys can be devided into 3 categaries:

What are the difference between these keys?

Is it possible to use Renault can clip via Passthru interface? Which device passthru do you recommend? Whats modifaction we have to do?

Yes, it is possible. You need to trick Clip into believing your passthru (j2534) vci is anAlliance VIprobe.

There might be multiple ways of doing this, but the simplest that I have discovered is to set "Vendor”=”79B” and "Name”=”1B” on your passthru registry settings inHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PassThruSupport.04.04\<VCI>.

We recommend creating a new vci entry by exporting from the registry and editing the reg file.
People have used DrewTech Cardaq Plus, Ford VCM2, VAS5054, Daf VCI, scanmatik and PCMtuner. Communication with some ecus has glitches, but most work alright.
Renault has the multimedia CAN bus on OBD pins 12 and 13, so you most likely will not be able to access ecus on that bus, unless your vci is able to route a second CAN channel to those pins. If you really need access to that bus, you can make yourself an adapter cable and redirect the CAN pins by intercepting the passthru api calls.

This might be very useful to a lot of people.

People have tested some j2534 cables with CLIP. Some worked, some failed.

Can Clip V202 is the best version so far, some versions have activation issues (i.e v205), could not make it work.

VXDIAG J2534: Failed

I have try with VXDIAG interface on Megane 2015, it detects the interface and also detect the car very fast,
but after enter the network test the software crash, something about CAN1 ,, CAN2 etc error.

The error comes from AcqBoardJ2534Adapter.dll and it was on Clip 198.

VXDiag supports Can / Can PS but does not support Can CH1 / Can CH2, the firmware is too old for Clip and the new RSN interface.

VCX Nano will not work interface is limited by licensed. It is not recommended as passthru for CLIP.

OBD2 VCM2: it Works

I am using VCM2 and it works fine.

Scanmatic2 Pro original: Yes, 100%

PCMTuner: Success

Can Clip pass thru goes good with pcmtuner. It works no issue. It is actually a Scanmatic2 pro.

Tactrix Openport clone is a cheaper solution, as the Vxdiag licence may have issues after you modify the Registry files.

it should work fine with GM MDI2 Original.

you are making changes only in the registry, nothing onMDI2.

make sure you backup the registry file before making any changes.

or the best way is to do it on a vmware machine

I tried my Cardaq-M with method above, and it worked.

OK, I exported my cardaq registry entry from list of pass thru adapters and edited reg file in notepad.

Changed registry key name to "Renault Cardaq”

Changed vendor to "79B”

Changed name to "1B”

Then imported the new entry into registry.

VAS 5054a: Yes

If yours Vas 5054 driver is installed ok,Clip software is choosing the interface.You did not have to do ANYTHING.For sure you did not succeed all steps for installing vas driver.
Do not expect for vas 5054 to work on same windows with xentry,because are using different setup. Xentry is using Vas 5054 as Passthru ,Clip do not.

What you can do is:
1 35 gb new partition for windows
2 fresh windows 11 64 bit (can be windows 10/64 bit)
3 net framework 2.0(3.0,3.5 with)
4 winrar
5 driver for vas
6 clip install.

Renault Traffic 3 2015 program 2nd key withLonsdor K518ISEsuccessfully. 10 min job.

Read flash, prepare dealer key and learn key.

Done a lot of these, 30-40. No issues. But always with battery support.

2015 10 min. 2018 onwards up to 40 min.

Smart Pro does these in 5mins. Lost key too. Autel can add key no problem, nice no Lonsdor does them. Tools so powerful now.

Here one ofpcmtuner passthrucustomers is using it for Volvo diagnostic with V-I-D-A.

PSA Citroen Peugeot SID208 BSL Instruction

Step 1: Read and Write steps
Use a universal cable connect the ECU to pcmtuner bench/boot port
USB cable connect laptop and pcmtuner
Power adapter connect PCMTuner for ensure power supply
You can read and write the ECU

NOTE: Don’t forget to make full backup before you do any work, that will make you work safe. Full backup mean read eeprom and flash then save it.

Step 2:
B9 connect CNF
B7 and B8 connect BOOT

Step 3:
Unlock sid208 Ford in BSL mode must do, unlock most do before step 2
1. First right in the car or on the table without transferring the block to BSL mode. You need to subtract the password.
To do this, select normal SID208 from the list of modules and press Read. The program subtracts the password from
the computer and offers to save it to a file (the serial number of the computer will be in the file name, it is also indicated on the cover of the computer itself).
In parallel, the program will write the current status of the computer, i.e whether or not signature verification is enabled. If the signature verification is already disabled, then someone
did it earlier. In this case, just write the computer as a regular SDI208 or SID209.

2. Open the computer and looking at the picture, make the following connection: Connect 1kOhm resistors to two points, and connect the resistors to the two upper pins with the other end.

Step 4:
Unlock sid208 FORD in BSL mode must do, unlock must do before step 2.

3. In the bootloader, select SID208/BSL or SID209/BSL and press the Read button. The program will ask you to specify a file with a password, you must specify a file saved in the first stage.
Next, at the command of the program, turn on the power. The block should begin to be read. Reading time 2-3 minutes. Full full is read. Turn off the ECU power.

4. Turn on the computer power and press the initialize button to unlock the unit. The program will again ask about the file with the password. Upon successful completion of the operation, everything is ready. Now you can solder
\the resistors and continue programming with any bootloader like a regular Citroen/Peugeot PSA SID208.

5. The button of identify, read and delete errors in BSL mode does not work. But after the block is unlocked (despite the presence of a boot pin), it will
automatically be overloaded into the normal non-BSL mode. so these operations will begin to work until the power is turned off.
It will also be possible to flash it as a regular block, but after flashing, it will switch back to BSL mode.

Attention:
The module has an automatic power management function. When this option is activated, the program itself will turn off and turn on the computer power at the right times.
The simplest circuit for automatic power management can be made independently.
