So much reputation is given to BMW Carsoft 6.5 ECU Chip Tuning in many BMW forums. I rushed myself to get one with 6.5 version. I hooked it up to work on window XP 32 bit operating system. Following parts are my real experience of how to use the Carsoft ECU programmer step by step.

Warm Prompt: All the procedures are based on Windows XP system.

Step 1 Close all anti-virus software on win XP system because anti-virus software can flag up this item software as having a virus.

Step 2 Open the Programs tab and delete all CARSOFT folders, including the "AIRBAG1.DXT" file which located either in CM70 or CM75s folder in hardware even through it does not contain Carsoft words. OBDII365

Step 3 Restart the computer, select Program>>Accessories>>System Tools>> System Restore, then create a new store.

Step 4 Close all programs. Click Accessaries>>System Tools>> Disk Cleanup>>MORE OPTIONS Tab>> Delete all the Restore point under "System Restore”.

Step 5 Open "My Computer”>>Properties (in hard drive)>>Tools>>Check Now>>Start the program>>Restart the computer.

Step 6 Install CARSOFT 6.5 in the Carsoft software. Please any anti-virus software has been disabled.

Step 7 Install SP1 Driver which located in CARSOFT/BMW folder which you have copied on the desktop.

Step 8 Open the CRACKS Folder and copy all of the files contained in the Folder and instructions to the BMW folder located in the newly created CARSOFT program Folder on Hard Drive.

Step 8 Then you have to check there are two files named Carsoft and CarsoftBMW6.5 respectively. Delete the CARSOFT file and re-name CARSOFTBMW65 as CARSOFT.

Step 9 Restart the system and install Carsoft 6.5 software. You'd better clear all useless information in the trash bin.

Considering someone want it, but it's a 500GB HDD, too large to download. I thought make acronis image, but this software is encrypted, if I make acronis image it will not work, i already try it, when I turn on the notebook, it ask me password (must be BMW).

MOTO BMW diagnostic Scanner can work by using several power supply modes.
1. Motorcycle diagnostic connector power supply.
2. A.C.transformer power supply
3. Provide electricity with USB interface, mainly used during the software updating.

After electrifying the mainframe, turn on the power supply. The mainframe displays the application object of the scanner: BMW MOTORCYCLE SCANNER. After waiting for 1sec. it can enter the main menu automatically.

Connect diagnostic connector to the motorcycle diagnostic connector and turn on the ignition switch. If there is not power supply in the diagnostic connector, you need to connect with the alligator clip to get electricity from the battery. What to do when your dash warns you oil change required. BMW mini owners will be mess up how to reset change oil maintenance light. Here is the easiest way to reset the change oil light. OBDII365

First of all, you need an oil reset tool to help you complete the task. SI-Reset BMW OBD2 tool is not bad a choice ($13 or so).

Then plug the SI-reset tool into the OBD2 port of your vehicle (SI-Reset supports BMW Mini & Rover 75 vehicles after 2001 via OBD2 socket). All LED’s of SI-Reset will blink and stay on.

Next, turn on the ignition switch to enable the board electronic but do not turn on the motor.

After that press the button for the operation you want to perform shortly. The LED light which you already chosen to operate would illuminate, the other LED's would be off vice versa.

If all LED's display a light chain which means oil reset process is completed.

Warm Prompt:
You need to make an inspection reset before an oil reset on some dashboards. Please consult mechanic or engineer before oil reset.

I had big question with my 2001 BMW X5 3.0. Recently, the ABS, brake and DSC light on. Have you ever met such awkward situation? Here I will try my best to explain the problem and solution.

Once when I ready to pull my vehicle, I found the ABS light and DSC light came on. Then the engine went to failsafe mode and accelerated at a low speed. Brakes failed to work properly by showing yellow light. Besides, the lights went by themselves after warm place for three minutes. I have to turn the DSC by myself, but unfortunately these lights on few minutes later.

I realized that it was the time to diagnose my vehicle with a quality BMW scanner. Then I hooked up my BMW scanner V2.20 K+DCAN to pull dup form ABS module, then it displayed 118 and 908 error code. Then I googled what do they refer to. 118 stands for DME status problem and 908 meant intermittent system was down.

Then I pulled my vehicle to the mechanic. He first inspected the battery to check when I replace it. A weak battery may lead to such problems. After confirming that my battery is original and had no problem. The mechanic suggested to get my EML (Drive-by-wire system) replaced. He explained to me that if there are any faults in the EML system, it will immediately shut down the entire DSC system and go into failsafe mode to prevent any unplanned movements of the car. It could be as simple as a bad accelerator pedal, or a bad electronic throttle body, or even a wiring problem between any of the control units.

Well, finally the problem was settled but I lost big money.
