Troubleshoot BMW engine light warning

Gets on your nerves when the check engine light on your dashboard comes on. What can we do by ourself?

OK, let us say you use an iOBD2 BMW from www.obdii365.com. So, get ready and find out how to use the tool to know what your car is up to on your own.

1. Get a computer, a laptop or a phone that your iOBD2 BMW can work together.
2. Find the data link connector under the dashboard on the drivers side.
3. Connect the code reader with the car via a cable or via wireless connection.
4. Turn the ignition key to the ON position but do not rush to start the engine.
5. Wait until the ignition system is on, and then the vehicle will power up the code reader. You will see a welcome screen then.
6. Follow the hints the code reader provide – select read codes — display the trouble codes.
7. A few minutes later, the screen will display the DTCs if there is something wrong with you engine system or other systems.
8. If there are DTCs, there will be an option to clear the codes. Press the button (if there is one) or click the "Clear” option to erase the DTCs.
9. After that you will see two options, recheck or pass. If you have finished the work, you can turn off ignition and pull out the connector from the port.

Working with Creator C110 BMW code reader V3.1

I get a Creator C110 BMW Code Reader V3.1 online from a Chinese OBD2 tool seller--obd365.com, because it cheaper than store. Here I would like to talk about my experience using the BMW code reader.

According to the manual book, Creator C110 V3.1 is able to pull fault codes from a lot of systems, including EWS, Airbag, ARS, SMF, ABS, ACS, DSC, SBSL, EDCSHL, EDCSHR, EDCSVL, EDCSVR, VDM, ACSM, AMPH, AMPT, CA, CCC-BO, CCC-GW, CHAMP-BO, CHAMP-GW, CNAV, DAB, FD, FLA, FRM2, FZD, HUD and CIC. I have not tried to diagnose with all of these systems. So far I have troubleshot with the device in airbag, ABS and SRS system for 8 BMW vehicles, such as BMW 1 16i, BMW 320i and BMW X6.

By far I have used the tool for 8 times. Well, it is unusual for private car owner to use a OBD2 scanner that often, but as a self-employed auto shop owner, I have to deal with at least 5 cars per day on average. Creator C110 V3.1 works quite well overall. It can do all the things I ask it to and response my order quickly.

The tool is quite user-friendly. It features 6 buttons on the operational interface, making it very easy for users to carry out diagnoses.

One thing I do not like about my Creator C110 is it only supports two languages: English and Germany. I don't understand the English well, As Japanese.

Talking About BMW Diagnostics Tool for Auto

Repairing a BMW vehicle is a tough job when you do not know what is wrong with it. To make the job easier, auto diagnostic tool industry has developed several of BMW diagnostic devices, BMW code scanners and other tools for auto mechanics to choose.

This BMW diagnostic tool is a real replacement to tools such as BMW ICOM A2+B+C, GT1, SSS and ISIS because it boasts all system diagnoses with BMW vehicles made after 1986 and BMW Mini vehicles made after 2001.

A2- OBD diagnostic supporting MOST, D-CAN and K-CAN protocols
B - Diagnostic via MOST bus, and have connection to A-interface via USB connection.
C - 20-pin cable for old models.

This BMW diagnostic tool is easy to use even for repairmen who have little knowledge about vehicles. Repairmen can get access to the newest information the device detected from itself, and can operate it directly.

Have confidence to cope with many BMW problems as the dealers do if they have got BMW ICOM A2 in hand from obdii365.com.

Second. the special function of SVDI:

A. odometer correction via OBD, including vehicle models, such as year 2009- VW Multivan, VW EOS, VW Caddy, VW Polo, Skoda Hao Rui, Skoda Yeti, Seat Leon, Seat Altea, Exeo and Ibiza and year 2010- VW Bora and Volkswagen Jetta, and etc.
B. VDO instrument cluster (year 2006-)
C. Read and write the data in the dashboard, and NEC MCU immo data (year2009-)
D. Read IMMO security code and pin code; protection on component data via OBD for VW Crafter

2. Use dump tool to calculate security access code and correct mileage after the EEPROM of corresponding unit is read out.
