BMW F10 528i 2013 Used TCM Programming by CGDI BMW

Here's the instruction on BMW F10 528i 2013 used TCM (EGS) programming after replacement. Reset ISN withCGDI Prog BMW, tried flashing with E-sys but got some troubles, programming and encoding on car done by cgdi bmw and error check with ista+.

 

Part 1: Reset ISN on bench

Connect CGDI BMW with EGS 8HP (Check wiring diagram and detail guidehere)

In CGDI BMW software, go toBMW EGS change-8HP (F)-Clear ISN

Jeep Scanner CDA5 StarScan StarMobile or Launch

Today we'll share the observations and results towardsChrysler Jeep Dodge diagnostic scanners. Maybe someone will be interested in them.

 

Together we selected several of the most complete and correct devices and programs for diagnosing the FCA groups. We are testing devices on Windows and Android OS.
Let's try to understand the lots of adapters, operating systems, programs and features. But the most important thing is availability and the price of the issue!

-Devices based on ELM327

— OBD JSCAN (ELM327, Android)
- DiagFCA (ELM237, Windows)
- Launch (its own adapter, Android)
- StarMobile/StarScan/wiTech (the scanner itself and Windows), it is not in production and there are only a few left for sale.

Installed and set up diagnostics for Windows 7 (64 bits) for StarMobile. The program is called CDA5.

 

 

1. Devices based onELM327 (USB,Bluetooth,WiFi adapters)

Android OS:

-Torque Prois a simple program, minimal, does not understand everything, beautiful, but useless in normal cases.Download from the Play Market.

-inCarDoc Pro, but the same thing.Download from the Play Market.
-ScanMaster, the same thing.Download from the Play Market.
-MotorData OBD, yes, the same thing.Download from the Play Market.
-WJdiag Free, it was not possible to test it, it sees the car, but does not climb into the blocks.Probably only for VJs.Download from the Play Market.

—OBDJSCANis needed for those who do not have the possibility of other diagnostics.This program is the weakest and most unfinished.What is offset by its price.You don't have to wait for a miracle.Much will not do or quit. In some cases, it can program what launch cannot, for example: change the gear ratio of the main pairs,

However, in the case of a diesel car, it works disgustingly with the engine control unit.It sees and erases errors, not everything sees the current readings from the sensors, but of those that it sees, it displays a lot crookedly.Actuator tests, does not perform adaptation, does not know how to program.It does not connect to some other modules.

 

 

2. Devices based on ELM327 on Windows:

—DiagFCAA program for Windows, can work with the same ELM. Moreover, both USB and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (I did not check this, I do not have a Wi-Fi dongle).

The best option for diagnosis which in terms of functionality is close to the StarScan dealer scanner.Sees all blocks, reads and erases errors, tests actuators, adapts, has rich programming capabilities. In some ways better than Launch. Much may be needed for initial diagnosis. Comfortable price, but the need for a laptop. It is more convenient to watch on a monitor, such as a laptop. It is tied only to the car by VIN. But you can tie up 1, 2, 5 or an unlimited number of programs. For example, we use two licenses on two different laptops and with different adapters. Therefore, this is possible if you pool your money with a friend (which is cheaper by a couple of thousand) and buy 2 licenses.

The mainAppcar DiagFCAfeatures:

• Reading and erasing all DTC Fault codes from all systems available on the vehicle
• Reading identification data from all vehicle systems, such as part numbers and software versions, VIN numbers recorded in each module
• Showing Live Data - current parameters available on each of the systems
• Testing and controling of selected actuators such as valves, relays, lighting and more
• Programming and configuring many unique features
• Activation and deactivation of selected vehicle equipment
• Key Fob programmingNew!- beta version

In general, this programdoes not work very well with a diesel engine- it does not know how to carry out adaptations, it does not even carry out all tests of actuators.So Launch remains in the lead in terms of diesel engine, yielding to Star Scan and Bosch KTS.

 

 

3.Devices based on StarScan (with screen), StarMobile (CDA5),wiTECH,Micropod VCI

 

4. Launch dongles

-Launch X431/ThinkdiagI can advise Launchto those who do not want to mess with Windows and laptops.Initial data for diagnostics. But there is also something missing (for example, not everyone needs to kill the car by prescribing injectors).It is necessary to follow the subroutine number, for jeeps like the latest version is 32.50.It is convenient that you can use all this on your phone.And it reads any car, because a set of programs is linked to its dongle by its number. Do not lose the dongle, this is the most valuable thing.

When programming DRL (DRL), we can use DiagFCA and StarMobile to set the voltage on the headlights, but there is no such possibility in Launch.

Then I came to the conclusion that one of the best scanners for the Jeep is the Launch x-431 iDiag. It was then relatively inexpensive, and it offered very wide opportunities.No, of course the dealer scanner could do more, but it also cost twenty times more.

 

 

What to choose?
At the beginning of 2022, DiagFCA wins in terms of price/possibilities. But it requires a computer, which not everyone drives a car permanently.Therefore, for field diagnostics field, it is quite possible to use OBD JSCAN app, which can be installed on an Android or Apple smartphone or tablet. Well, the best part is that one ELM327 adapter is suitable for these two programs.

Launch wins in terms of diesel models and convenience. If you are a professional guy, stick ontowitech. There is much positive feedback on the Chinese clone thro.

Code Cannibal and OBDSTAR X300 DP Plus Comparison

Code cannibal and obdstar x300 dp plus (key master dp plus) is based on same system but still have a few differences thou.

 

 

Similarities:

• based on same system, same immo software
• They are the first tools to do GM 2021 and ford 2021 when they came out.
• both can do 2021 chevy trucks with the newGM CAN FD adapter.
• Theford bypass cableis much better then the way autel has you do it.

 

Differences:

• Code cannibal is based off of the C configuration of keymaster dp plus/x300 dp plus
• Code cannibal comes with the bypass cables. OBDSTAR needs to be purchased separately.
• Code cannibal can't do motorcycle or powerboat immo, but obdstar can. All you do is buy the moto immo adapter set.
• The funny thing is the obdstar that I have the renewal cost $500 and the Code cannibal renewal $700.
• so your money ahead getting the obdstar. and u can always upgrade configuration A to C for $465, and then you have full diagnostic and gm bcm cloning and alot of other stuff like motorcycle immo. can't add any of that with code cannibal.

How to use Autel XP400 Pro to Renew OEM Smart Key?

Problem:

Thank you for helping me change the language ofAutel IM508. But my XP400 software version does not have the "Remote" renew function and why? XP400 is well connected. My software version is v3.50.However, i saw there is 'Remote' function on my friend's tablet. Any idea?

How to Use Xprog to Repair BMW FRM3 Step by Step?

Q: Looking to do BMW FRM3 programming and looking at purchasing theXhorse VVDI Prog. I am curious if I were to get a corrupted FRM3 read is there a cloud database Xhorse has that will have a good eeprom file to flash back into the corrupted FRM3? As long as its a compatible ID of course. I could not find any software to convert the D-flash to eeprom.

The best way to repair FRM module seems to be reading dFlash memory. When you try to read it, the programmer tells you the partition is correct and then you choose the size of EEPROM of 0 sectors - then you read full dflash. You can download the dflash to eee convertor, convert the data and write back as eee.

This tool allows the currupt data in the microprocessor to be read, even after the eeprom not corrupted. This is done by reading the d-flash contents from the microprocessor using an appropriate programmer (likexprog, vvdi prog,orange5,upaetc), after which this program can convert it to an eeprom image which can then be programmed to the simulated eeprom area again using the same programmer.

 

 

How to use the D-FLASH to EEPROM converter:

Example 1:

Repairing BMW FRM3 with vvdi prog(incl. convert D-flash to EEPROM).

 

Example 2:

Repair FRM3 withxprog China clone

 

1. Prep the solder points. They are large test points that take rosin-core solder quite readily - Nice and easy to solder.

 

2. Solder the wires to the test points. Your colours may vary if you received a different wiring harness with your XProg.

 

3. You don't need to use the daughterboard, but I figured it wouldn't hurt. Here are the labels from the HC(S)12 adapter board:

So the soldering is done, now its time for the programming.

5. Open XProg and select: "MCU/MPU" -> "Freescale 9S12XE" -> "MC9S12XEQ384_D-FLASH"

 

6. Open a new hex file to download the D-FLASH.
a. Click "New"
b. Click "Read"
c. At this point XProg will connect, check certificates, then set up BDM. It will probably tell you the flash is corrupted, you need to select 0k of EEPROM and 32k of FLASH (This is the default).

 

7. Once the download is complete, save the D-FLASH. Open the D-FLASH using tomvleeuwen's app or webpage -http://tlvps.tomvanleeuwen.nl/frm/. If you use the app it will ask you to open the D-FLASH you just saved, then ask you where you want to store the new EEPROM (I used the app, as my computer needed to be offline to use XProg)

8. Open the newly created EEPROM file in XProg

 

9. Change the device to: "MCU/MPU" -> "Freescale 9S12XE" -> "MC9S12XEQ384_EEE"

 

10. Write the new EEPROM to the FRM3
a. Click "Erase". Yes I am sure. Yes the flash is corrupted - Fix it.
b. Click "Write"
c. Click "Verify".
d. Run the "Erase" / "Write" / "Verify" three times to get it to verify correctly.

 

DO NOT PANIC - If you read the D-FLASH again, it will come back empty (0x0). This is normal and desired behaviour.

Reinstall into the car, and everything should work the way you want!

Seriously took about 5 minutes to read the D-Flash, generate the EEProm, and write it back once the solder points were connected. When you plug the module back into the car, it worked perfectly.

You can connect and read the dflash with theautel xp400 (im60 as well. You'll have to check within the programmer section. Once you read the dflash, you can upload to the converter above and it will generate repaired eeprom. Then you write the generated eeprom file via xp400 and your FRM is fixed.

Some programmers (like Orange5) allow you to read D-flash while the partition table is not corrupt. Hence you were able to find the D-flash dump from a good unit.

Also, it might seem that D-Flash is empty if you only look at the first sector, since it is possible that the first sector is empty but there is some data further down in the file. I wondered once for a long time why it was empty, so just a warning for everyone trying to recover via D-flash.
