How to Manual Unlock VAG SFD Gateway with Xhorse?

XHORSE cannot automatically unlock the SFD gateway; it requires obtaining the calculation code from a third party.

Method:

• Obtain the vehicle SFD seed code (vehicle data) via OBD.
• Send the seed code to a third-party service for calculation manually (i.e vag logins).
• Copy the calculation result into the input field on the tablet. The SFD unlock will then be completed, with a validity period of 90 minutes after unlocking.

vag-logins is only for SFD1. It cannot unlock SFD2 yet.

After unlocking SFD gateway, you have 90 minutes to perform related functions.

Then generate dealer key and learn key with vvdi key tool plus.

Can i do BMW G series BDC2 all keys lost with the Xhorse BDC2 adapter? This is a frequently asked question.

Xhorse released the test beta version of BDC2 all-key-lost function by the end of November 2025.

Compatible devices:
Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Plus
Xhorse Multi Prog+ VVDI2/Key Tool MIDI (later)

Requirement:

Need BMW G BDC2 function activation.

RequiresBMW BDC2 adapter

Use Original or Xhorse BMW dedicated XM38 key

NOTE:

The all-key-lost function is still in the testing phase, and the official software version is awaiting updates.

Menu path:

Test function 106.

The test menu is currently available in Chinese only.

1. Pre-processing key data

3. Erase/virgin BDC2 module

Problem:

BMW BDC3 key cloning usingKeydiy KD-X4definitely key is Hungary. Failed with errors code B7 I have tried both laptop and cellphone. Is this key locked (encrypted) ?

Possible reasons:

1). Keydiy cannot copy all BDC3 Hungary keys. Only 90% success rate. Still some models are not supported.

2). The date on the key is before 2020, it can’t be copied.

Better read vehicle information first to verify if it is BDC2 or BDC3 system.
