Better keep both Xhorse and KeyDIY, in case one does a remote that another couldn’t do. They have their own pros and cons. KeyDIY has extensive coverage of remotes. They usually cost way cheaper than original remotes. It is good to back a cloning/chip generation backup tool when the server goes down.
No single tool covers all scenarios. Many locksmiths recommend owning both Xhorse and KeyDIY devices to maximize vehicle coverage, as each supports remotes the other may not.

To renew or virginize a Mercedes-Benz FBS4 VGS4 NAG2 gearbox (specifically VGS4-0-NAG2 or VGS4-500-NAG2, used in 4th generation (4-4) 7-speed transmissions), you need specialized tools to reset, erase, clone or reprogram the Transmission Control Unit (TCU). What’s the difference between BMW G series key and F series key? Can we use F series key for G series?
Here is the clue.

Today, we’ll show you how to read immo data and program BMW G series BDC2 immo system key using Xhorse vvdi key tool plus.
Tools required:
Xhorse VVDI Key Tool PlusorVVDI2
Xhorse BMW G Series BDC2 adapter
BMW G Series IMMO license activation
Original key
New OEM or aftermarket G key to be programmed
Power supply
Procedure:
Remove and disassemble the BDC2 module.
Install Xhorse BMW BDC2 adapter with the BDC2 module.
Ensure the pins align perfectly with the positioning points and the connection is stable.
Focus on checking the EEPROM PIN2 pin, ensuring proper contact with the probe and that it doesn’t touch other pins.
If the voltage is too high or too low, the adapter light may flicker or not turn on. Too high voltage can even damage the adapter.

After installing the BDC2 adapter, go to Key Too Plus IMMO function.
Go to IMMO-BMW- G IMMO Function.
1.Read vehicle information
2. Pre-processing BDC02 IMMO system
Follow 5 steps below to pre-process BDC2 immo system.
Refer to the wiring diagram to connect the BDC2 harness to the BDC2 module.
Supply 12v+ power to the adapter before proceeding.
Read coding data.
Save coding data.
Step 2: Enter Mode
Put the module into service mode.
Enter service mode completed.
Proceed to step 3 to read BDC2 key data operation.
Step 3: Read the Secret Key
Read and save the key data.
Step 4: Update programming
Make sure the BDC2 key data has been read successfully. The service mode will exit after programming recovery.
Perform update programming.
Step 5: Restore the coding
Restore the encoding information of the module, which allows generating dealer key.
Write coding completed.
Pre-processing BDC2 is finished.
3. Make dealer key.
Select make dealer key. Select an key position.
Upload key data.
Generating dealer key requires loading sync data from the key.
Click Yes to read sync data from the original key (add key if we have original key).
If all keys lost, click No and load sync data (obtain from 3rd party).
Place a new key to the coil.
Make dealer key successfully.

Here is the user's working experience on Nissan Kicks 2025 smart key programming usingAutel IM608.
2025 Nissan Kicks smart key WITHOUT Consult4!
First try: IM608+40 PIN Cable+APB131 adapter.
When I first came to the vehicle I extracted the pin code within the HFM via eeprom, but I didn’t realize that there is no OBD communication even with the Nissan 40 bypass cable and so was not able to program the extra remote.
This time I came more prepared, I had wiring diagrams of the body control module to pinpoint where the CAN pins are. I realized this vehicle has both Can and CanFD pins and probed both pairs separately.
When hope began to run dry success struck!
The combination that worked was probing the low speed canH and canL while also having theAutel CANFD adapterconnected AND going through 2024+ Pathfinder.
So, extract PIN via eeprom, and then connect the Autel's CANFD adapter's CAN H+L pins directly to the vehicles CAN H+L lines, instead of thru the OBD (used a chrysler bypass cable for the CAN probes, bypassing firewalls), and attempt process selecting Pathfinder 24.
It has also been verified that consult3+ does NOT connect to the vehicle or pull the vin number.

Keydiy released a new KD-MP tool for VAG Porsche MLB and MQB48 immo systems. Here is an example of adding a spare key to a Porsche Cayenne 2024 with the KD-MP tool.
A similar procedure goes for other MLB models.
Tools required
Keydiy KD-X4
Keydiy KD-MP tool
Original key

Procedure:
Part 1: Collect Key Data & Generate Dealer Key with KD-MP
Disassemble the original MLB key.
Run KD-X4 software App.
Go to Programming function- KD-MP function.

Check wiring diagram.

Select the one that matches the MLB key.
Here the key board is the same as type 5 wiring.
Need to remove 2 capacitors and solder two wires (VCC and GND).



Solder the adapter with original key.
Connect the solder adapter withKD-MP, connect the KD-MP tool to computer via type C usb cable, connect 12v power supply to the KD-MP.


Put the original board to the induction coil of KD-MP.
Run KD-MP App.
1.Identify the Key
Read key information.
It reads key ID, status, part number etc.

2.Collect key data.
It will deduct 200 coins.
Calculating data.
Collect key data successfully.
You will receive a verification code.


The verification code can be used to generate dealer key and learn key.
Record the verification code. If you forget the code, you can check the collection history and find the code.


3. Generate dealer key
The next step is to generate the dealer key.
Put the KD MLB key to the coil.

Press Generate dealer key.
Enter the verification code to generate key.
Generate dealer key successfully.


Part 2: Learn MLB key withKD-X4
Now we need to learn the KD MLB key with KD-X4.
We need to unlock the SFD gateway and unlock cluster for this model. Otherwise, we cannot learn key. For other models that don’t need to unlock SFD and cluster, just proceed the Key Learning procedure.
Go to KD-X4 app.
SelectIMMO Programming- Porsche- MLB Immobilizer System-Start execution- SFD Unlock.
SelectUnlock gateway.



Turn on the ignition switch
Confirm VIN.
You need to copy the SFD code to 3rd party to get unlock token.
Input unlock token and unlock SFD gateway.
Then unlock the instrument cluster.


Follow similar process to unlock cluster.


You should perform the related operation within 90 minutes.
SelectKey learning.
Turn off the air conditioner and open the engine hood.
Enter number of keys to learn. Here 2 keys need to learn.

Enter the verification code we get from KD-MP tool.

Learn key 1, then 2.
Finish key learning.
Test both keys.

Problem 1:
It’s a Range Rover Sport 2019. Trying to add a spare smart key withAutel IM508andAutel’s universal Land Rover key. Cloned key successfully, remote works and car starts only when put key near sensing area. Proximity does not work. How to make the proximity to work?
Problem 2:
After a generate 2019 Range Rover key withLonsdor K518 ProandJLR smart key, write the key lock unlock works.
But you have to be close to the steering to start which is keyless entry won’t work.
And this car has no issues all good he just lost the key.
Solution:
These models’ UWB ((Ultra Wide Band)) function is enabled. All current Land Rover models employ ‘Ultra Wideband’ (UWB) technology within the vehicle’s Smart Keys. This is normal if keylessgo is not working.
Almost all tools use the same solution for these vehicles, reading key(s) from the RFA and emulating them into change-ID or their own keys. This is fine for places outside of the EU/AU that use non-UWB keys.
UWB equipped vehicles require one of several solutions, one is to use the emulated keys & alter the CCF to turn UWB off. UWB is a setting so it’s a frequency setting on those newer vehicles you have to turn it off when you’re not using a OEM key cuz the key is not capable of ultra wide band.
You can turn off ultra wide band after you make a new key if you use a clone style key to get the remote wireless functionality back.
Lonsdor also has a function to disable UWB.
Go to Lonsdor Modify vehicle config function.
Disable UWB function.
Then check if the key is working properly.
However this has the side effect of disabling telematics and navigation as they are linked to the UWB function in GWM & BCM. This also removes part of the security solution for these vehicles.
Another is to use a UWB emulator like Abrites do, this won’t fly with owners of these vehicles until they’re much older than they are now, soldering a tiny, cheap PCB into an expensive car is not a good look. Once again however this removes a part of the security solution.
The real option for JPLA/K8D2/M9R3 etc is to remove the RFA and replace it with a new unit and then code new keys to it and link the RFA to the car.Full keyless only with new RFA or new MCU.
If the car can be unlocked by holding the door handle =PSPS=Passive Entry Passive Start =keyless entry function. You have to replace the RFA unit or MCU chip.
Always check vehicle and KVM information and verify if KVM (RFA) is locked or not.
You can check KVM information using Lonsdor K518 Pro series devices.
Go to Immo& Remote->Jaguar-> Select from vehicle-> Jaguar (2018-)->Smart Key->Read vehicle info.
If it is a Land rover, go to Immo& Remote->Land rover-> Select from vehicle-> Land rover(2018-)->Smart Key->Read vehicle info.
If the RFA is locked, you cannot clone key to add a spare key.
The KVM has SPC MCU, which have to be changed in order to add key.
Or replace RFA with new unit, but in doing so you are hoping it has not had the BCM locked at the dealer as if BCM is also locked then you need to replace BCM as well, and put telematics unit into service mode.
